We offer our value travellers some helpful ideas and suggestions when planning your trip to Myanmar. If you need more specific information please feel free to contact us.
 

Airport Tax

Any passengers departing Myanmar on international flights must pay a departure tax of US$ 10.00 per person (with effect from March, 2006) and domestic departures at every airport in Myanmar must also pay 1000 Kyats (Myanmar local currency) per person ( with effect from June 2011).
 

Customs

Jewellery, electrical goods and cameras must be declared at the airport. Antiques and archaeological valuable items are not allowed to be taken out of the country. Duty free allowance are 2 bottles of liquor, 2 cartons of cigarettes, 100 cigars, 1.5 lb of tobacco, one pint bottle of perfume or eau de cologne. Receipt of purchase and an export permit voucher for locally bought goods such as gems and jewelry may be required upon departure.
 

Domestic Airlines & Flights

Air Bagan, Air Mandalay, Asian Wings and Yangon Airways are privately operated airlines flying throughout Myanmar. There is a 20 Kilo limit for baggage per person and excess baggage fees may be charged. We suggest you leave items not needed upcountry, in Yangon, and collect them upon your return.
 

Language

The majority of the people speak Myanmar (Burmese) and English is widely used in major cities like Yangon and Mandalay.
 

Climate

Myanmar distinguishes three major seasons: the cold season from October to February, the hot season from March until the beginning of June (with peak temperatures around 45 degrees Celsius) and the rainy season from the middle of June to September. Myanmar can be visited all year round.
 

Credit Cards

Presently credit cards are not accepted in Myanmar so you should carry enough cash to cover all your expenses for your trip in Myanmar.
 

Currency

We recommend visitors to bring brand new US Dollars cash. US Dollars are widely accepted throughout Myanmar and are easily exchangeable for the local Kyat currency.
Myanmar currency is known as " Kyat " which comprises 100 pyas.

Drinking Water

Only drink purified bottled water. Bottled water is readily available and some hotels provide it complimentary.
 

Health

No inoculations or vaccinations are required unless coming from or passing through an infected area. Clients should bring sufficient medication with them if required and should check for updated health recommendations before your departure to Myanmar regarding hepatitis, malaria, typhoid, etc. Please contact us if you would like detailed information.
 

Insurance

We recommend all clients to obtain the necessary personal baggage, medical and accident insurance before arrival.
 

Mobile Phones

Hand Phones or Mobile Telephones and Satellite phones from other countries currently do not operate in Myanmar.

Deposits & Payments

Advance payment of 50 % is compulsorily required to be made on acceptance of the quotation and confirmation.
Payment can be made by telegraphic transfer to Myanmar Investment and Commercial Bank (MICB)

Normally the balance of the tour price should be paid at least 30 days in advance unless other arrangements are agreed upon when booking is confirmed. For special groups or for services during certain peak periods, normal deposit fees may be increased by our Providers. Please inquire upon booking.
 

Cancellation Fees & Refunds

In case of cancellation to a confirmed program, overseas travel agents or the traveller(s) need to inform Reliance Travels & Tours by phone, e-mail or fax. And we will send back our acknowledgement by e-mail or Fax.

(1) 30 days prior to arrival No Cancellation fees
(2) 21 days prior to arrival 25% on Tour Cost
(3) 14 days – 5 Days prior to arrival 50% on Tour Cost
(4) Less than 5 days or No show 100% on Tour Cost

The above cancellation policy is applied to most of our package. Anyway, for Cruise Packages and Package with some deluxe hotel arrangements it will be depending on their own cancellation policy. So, you will be informed of the cancellation policy for each reservation you make.
 

Child Discount

One child under 12 years old is generally granted a reduction of 50% of the tour price, provided that he/she is accompanied by at least two full-paying adults and stays in the same room in an existing bed.
 

Complimentary Policy

For 16 Pax group, 1 (Pax) tour leader will be complimentary on half twin basis with breakfast.
