was reconstructed in the 1990?s. Now is the biggest one in
Myanmar. A colonial-style river streamer was completely
restaured in teak wood and brass The Rupandaw. Because of
its success, two other steamers where built in the same
style. These colonial-style boats offer a unique way of
traveling called the Pandaw Concept. It is a especial way to
travel, mixing exploration with elegance and unique
atmosphere. These ships can travel to remote areas of the
country and these cruises are offered to travelers who seek
to mix a land tour with a short river cruise experience.
They run four times a a week between Pagan and the
magnificent Mandalay. The Pandaw boats will stop for shore
excursions at Theingone and Yandabo where you can experience
real village life with its agricultural activities, pot
making and also visiting Buddhist monasteries. The feedback
we get from our travelers is that the short river cruises
are a welcome relax during their holiday.
